Rolls Royce
In May 2024 we were approached by the Rolls Royce Enthusiasts Club to help with media outreach to promote their Annual Rally and Concours d’Elegance 2024 taking place at stunning Burghley House, Stamford from the 21st – 23rd June.
The brief was simple but ambitious, the RREC wanted the prestigious event covered by as much media as possible and very specifically, TV. The odds of success were very much against us with the event taking place less than two weeks before the UK General Election and bang in the middle of the UEFA Euro Men’s Football competition in Germany. We were determined to succeed but were fighting for exposure at a very busy time.
Although a slightly different project to our normal remit we embraced the task with our usual high level of professional enthusiasm. The 2024 event was particularly special as it marked the 120th year anniversary of when Mr Rolls met Mr Royce at the Midland Hotel in Manchester, and the founding of the Rolls Royce incorporation. We worked with key people from within the organisation to develop an exciting and impressive prospective VIP and Press List. Our extensive outreach mainly focused on pitching the quintessentially English, overall visual appeal of the event whilst drawing out some of the key elements which we knew would attract targeted media attention. the Rally, celebrating its 10th year, was set to attract interest from Rolls Royce and Bentley lovers from all over the world, with some even travelling from Australia and India. Expectations were high!
We quickly became emersed in this somewhat eccentric lifestyle luxury sector, familiarising ourselves with the prestige car market and its associated partners. Our instinct focused our efforts on the much-heralded appearance of the famous Little Su – SU13 – The oldest Rolls Royce in the world – 10 HP – built back in 1907. In sharp Contrasting with the Little Su was the brand-new electric Spectre. In addition to the stars of the show a host of notable Rolls Royce and Bentley cars were displayed ready for the Sunday Concours d’Elegance, which took place on Sunday 23rd June, in the front of the beautiful Burghley House. With the Little Su, Spectre and a variety of celebrated Silver Ghosts and the roll call for the Concours d’Elegance we achieved the kind of media attention we were striving for.
By the end of the 3 busy yet enjoyable days, we had hosted several VIPs, including Derek Mathewson and his partner from the UKTV hit show, Bangers and Cash. We were pleased to have attracted some key media, including ITV Anglia who covered the event on their Sunday and Monday local news segments. The client was delighted with the extensive media coverage, which included local, national, specialist, online, broadcast and of course social. Whilst we may not be (Yet!) officially prestige car aficionados, we thoroughly enjoyed the project and were thrilled with the great results of our successful PR campaign and as always – to have a happy client makes the effort worthwhile.
