#justareminder

Simpler PR’s relationship with Merlyn began back in 2004. Since then, we have worked with the leading shower brand to promote their gorgeous products on a b2b and b2c basis. In 2019 we spearheaded a collaborative campaign between Merlyn and The Pink Ribbon Foundation, the campaign was called #justareminder. The shower is apparently one of the best places to self-check for early signs of breast cancer, so the idea was to promote this as a daily habit, by including a cool reminder graphic on the shower enclosure itself to act as a prompt to check, hence #justareminder.

The #justareminder charity campaign was launched at the cool and prestigious venue, Not Tonight Josephine in London’s Waterloo. The launch party/event attracted considerable interest from celebrities and journalists resulting in great exposure for Merlyn, The Pink Ribbon Foundation and the #justareminder campaign. Media coverage of the event and the #justareminder campaign appeared in trade, consumer and national press. There was also some great social media hype. The summer evening event was meticulously planned to ensure the Merlyn brand was always front of mind whilst giving vital breathing space to the life-saving message of self-checking. Photobooths, fun dance floor graphics, sweet carts, DJ host, themed goody bags, fancy pizza and a choice of monogrammed cocktails gave the event memorable credibility. The exciting event served as a fantastic launch pad for the #justareminder campaign which is still ongoing. The launch event was deemed an all-round success, meeting both attendance and coverage targets. One of the aims of the event was introducing the campaign to the Merlyn team and stakeholders, press and charity representatives, and this worked very well. The relationship between The Pink Ribbon Foundation and Merlyn Showering endures long after the campaign was launched with the two parties enjoying much mutual benefit.

“We have enjoyed working with Marie and her team at Simpler PR for the last 12 years, associating her clients with the Pink Ribbon Foundation to raise awareness and money for those affected by breast cancer. Brands such as Natuzzi Italia, Atkin and Thyme, Content by Terence Conran and Merlyn Showering to name a few! It is apparent Simpler PR are a wholly committed team and an extremely professional PR agency, happy to invest time and energy into good causes and who go above and beyond for their clients – and have excellent contacts! Working with them has benefited the charity as a whole.

The relationship with Merlyn was a whole different ball game, with the stakes much higher but the rewards even greater. Together with Simpler PR we launched the #justareminder campaign with Merlyn Showering (2019), encouraging people to check themselves regularly whilst in the shower, and for the checking to become a habit – knowing the signs to look out for and reminding them to seek medical advice immediately if they notice anything unusual. Simpler PR arranged a fabulous launch event at the infamous “Not Tonight Josephine” Club in Waterloo which we were delighted to attend, support and be part of”. Lisa Allen, Pink Ribbon Foundation.
