Although summer doesn’t seem to have hit us yet at the SimplerPR office, the past couple of months have seen a boom of fantastic summer trends- some of our favourites in the office have included fruit motifs and lobster-patterned everything! However, we know that the media is always a season or two ahead, so as we start to look forward we’ve been thinking about what’s going to be trending in Autumn.
This summer has been all about the Cote d’Azure Blue and Amalfi lemon yellow, but we think the autumn tide is pushing us towards Tuscany- with autumnal terracotta’s and natural linens. Cobalt has also been doing the rounds recently and we can see that softening into a more coastal sea blue.
We’ve loved watching interior designers embrace colour drenching- the act of styling a room with monotone décor and colours, however we can see the patterns start creeping back in and those monotone spaces become bold eclectic wonderlands!
Something that we’ve been noticing recently is the slow explosion of eclectic whimsical spaces. Featuring bold botanical motifs that exemplify the desire to embrace nature through biophilic design, alongside artistic and vintage accents which bring a human touch to an age where AI and digital creation are more commonplace. Eclectic Whimsy allows spaces to return to traditional design roots with a twist, continuing on from one of the summer’s biggest trends: dopamine décor. By decorating with pieces that spark individual joy, interiors begin to combat over-consumption and waste. Renouncing trend pieces and curating your home as if it is a gallery to the things you love without paying attention to the trends, allows a plush maximalist space to blossom that is truly individual and timeless.
A timeless trend that is once again making a resurgence is coastal folk interiors. Embodying the gentle hues of the seafront and meshing a number of natural textures such as wood, wicker, linen and glass, coastal folk intends to mimic coastal living which is heavily influenced by the impact of the sea. A varied and adaptable trend, Coastal folk can draw inspiration from the nautical cabins on ships that feature traditional wooden furniture and lavish drapery that have been splashed in sea salt, to deck chairs on the beach that sit in front of a Victoriana promenade.
